The 5* Hotel offers a wide range of facilities in addition to the magic Indian Ocean "Spice Island" itself. The hotel is situated on the most beautiful 30 acre site with its bedroom cottages located on rising ground overlooking verdant gardens, the public areas, the pool, the more than 1,000 beautiful palm trees, the sparkling white beach and the azure sea with its coral reef offering particularly warm and safe swimming.

Bluebay Beach Resort & Spa offers a wide range of activities such as a Tennis Court, Scuba Dive Centre, Windsurfing, Kayaks etc and is also popular for big game fishing.

Zanzibar is fortunate in having superb fishing almost all year round. But there are two definite peak seasons: the Yellowfin Tuna Season which runs from August to October and the Marlin Season which runs from December to Mid March.

The hotel has a total of 112 rooms, made up of the following categories:
6 Garden view rooms,
74 superior rooms,
24 Club Rooms,
6 deluxe/Suite rooms,
2 Sultan Suites.

All rooms have large four poster beds with billowing mosquito nets, separate dressing room, en-suite bathrooms, veranda/balcony, split level air conditioners and ceiling fans, mini-bar, satellite TV, electronic safes and tea/coffee making facilities.

Garden View rooms:
Located behind the Junior Suites in beautiful landscapped gardens. Each Room is at least 45 Sq. Metres.

These being the most competitively priced rooms at the Resort means they are also near-impossible to procure for most of the year. But for location, they are as comfortable and bear the hallmarks of the luxury inclusions found in all the other room categories.

Superior Rooms:
Bedroom cottages located on rising ground overlooking verdant gardens, the public areas, the pool, the sparkling white beach and the azure seas beyond. All the rooms in this category are sea view. Each room is approximately 50 Sq Metres.

This category of accommodation forms the core of the Resort and hence the most popular with our guests.

Club24 Rooms:
Club24 was achieved by creating a beautiful and intimate development of 24 rooms.

These superb rooms were developed in a very private section of the 30-acre plot of the Resort.

All the rooms have fabulous sea view and within the private area was created a free flow pool with separate Jacuzzi as well as a cozy lounge, bar and restaurant all of which are exclusive to the 24 Club Rooms.

Junior Suites:
Made up of 3 bungalows each with 2 interconnected Suites, in a private area, closer to the Ocean (hardly 30metres from the beach). All rooms are sea view and at least 90 Sq Metres with a lounge area incorporated in the room, an extensive external Verandah and a very unique, external garden shower (in back of room and enclosed in private compound).

They are an island of peace and tranquility!! So very private and exclusive. The are located in a private wing of the Resort - extensive grounds, only accessed by occupants of the 8 Suites of the Resort.

Sultan Suites:
Situated on the very edge of the Indian Ocean only a few metres from the brilliant, white sandy beach of Kiwengwa, these two Sultan Rooms are attended by Butlers, dressed in flowing traditional Swahili robes, whose sole aim is to ensure that your every need is met and surpassed.

Spacious verandahs, furnished in true Zanzibar style, provide the ideal location for washing away your worries and your cares while the ample rooms with their 8 feet 'Sultan size' beds enable you to experience first hand what it must have been like to be a real Sultan.

Of course, the Sultans never had access to all the contemporary hi-tec equipment that are to be found in the Sultan Suites, but we feel certain that were they to pay us a surprise visit today, they would approve of all of the modern conveniences that have been included.
