
Royal Livingstone Wedding Package - A more dramatic backdrop to the ultimate wedding could not be imagined than the roiling mists and thunderous sound of water dropping more than a hundred metres over the lip of a chasm that is one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
The Royal Livingstone Hotel, on the banks of the Zambezi River is not only a world-class resort, but also a place where romance has found its home amid the breath-taking beauty of the 46-hectare Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Wildlife Park next to the Victoria Falls in Zambia.
We don't have set packages for The Royal Livingstone anymore as each wedding is customized to suit your budget and tastes.
The legal documentation including the marriage certificate ranges from US$600 to US$720. The Priests fees are ±US$330. (all subject to change)
Should you wish to have assistance with processing documentation with the council, the following documentation will be required together with a fee in US$:
An original letter from each person, authorising the hotel to complete the “NOTIFICATION FOR MARRIAGE FORM” on your behalf,
Original letter of consent from both parents (If applicable),
Divorce certificates (if applicable). A Certified copy with previous marriage certificate,
Copies of first 3 pages of each passport,
Full birth certificates,
If widowed, death certificate and previous marriage certificate,
Full names and occupations of both parties as well as parents,
All documents must be translated into English,
All documents should be certified copies in blue ink.
The Council in Livingstone will publish the intention of marriage for public view.
When you arrive at The Royal Livingstone, your Wedding co-ordinator will meet you and agree the remainder of your function detail. On the day of the ceremony, a representative will take you to the Council where you will complete (in front of the Registrar of the Council) an AFFIDAVIT IN SUPPORT OF APPLICATION FOR REGISTRARS CERTIFICATE (MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE).
You will be issued with a Certificate of Marriage at this office. Your Wedding co-ordinator may sign as a witness if so requested.
On the day before the wedding or on the day of the ceremony, the Bride and Groom to be are to report to the Livingstone City Council Office to complete the procedure of signing the marriage certificate. There are three options available to undertake this:
- The Licensed Ministers Office
- A Committee Room
- Venue of Guest choice (This would involve the Hire of the Minister to conduct the procedure).
Note: During this procedure two witnesses (preferably the biological parents) are required.
If have a matrimonial contract, you will have to bring this along with you (drawn by your notary) stating such.
You must be married on the same day that the documents are presented. The ceremony can however take place the following day.
A licensed Priest or Pastor will conduct the ceremony on the date requested if so required.
The Law of Zambia Does Not Permit the following:
1. A marriage of any party under the age of 21years
2. Polygamy
You also need to remember that you are getting married according to Zambian laws so will not be able to get divorced until 5 years of separation (not that you want to think about that when planning your wedding but it is something to take into account and a lot of people choose to have a mock wedding instead to alleviate any future problems like this).
