Karoo Lodge can accommodate up to 12 guests, keeping it intimate and exclusive. Decorated in a chic and understated manner, it embraces comfort and elegance whilst retaining the style of the Karoo.
Karoo Lodge consists of 3 luxury suites within the lodge and 3 private Karoo Suites separate from the lodge. All of the suites are developed to the same high standard and have similar traditional décor. Each suite is complete with a large en-suite bathroom, Victorian baths and shower, air-conditioning and veranda – all have beautiful views of mountains and plains.
The diverse landscape of Samara is breathtaking. With four of South Africa’s seven biomes: Grassland, Nama Karoo, Thicket and Savannah, Samara’s abundant wilderness preserves a complex and diverse ecosystem, providing habitat for over 60 mammal species. Among more common species, such as the Kudu and Duiker, the secretive Aardvark and the onceendangered White Rhino roam. Giraffes can be seen peeking over the thorny Acacia canopy, while Cheetah crouch, hidden in the grass, waiting for an opportunity to stretch their legs and test the speed of the Hartebeest. At Samara, cheetah conservation is paramount and you can see these graceful and extraordinary creatures in the wild. Participate in cheetah tracking on foot or on your daily game drives.
