Vilanculos Beach Lodge is situated in the small coastal town of Vilanculos, in the subtropical province of Inhambane, Mozambique. Vilanculos is 720kms north of Maputo and 500kms south of Beira.

The town, with friendly people and a lively atmosphere, offers the perfect base from which to explore the picturesque Bazaruto Archipelago and the Bazaruto National Park.

Due to it's reasonable rates, Vilanculos Beach Lodge is frequented by South Africans.

ACCOMMODATION
8 Luxury Chalets with private covered patio. 2 chalets with double beds, 6 chalets available as twin or king size bed.
14 Luxury Chalets arranged in pairs sharing a covered patio. These can be converted to private patios if required. All units available as twin or king size bed.
1 Presidential Suite - 2 en suite bedrooms, a central lounge, bar area and large covered patio.
All rooms have en suite showers, separate toilet, air conditioners, room fridge, hair dryer, electronic safe, mosquito nets, shaver plug point, coffee and tea station.

GETTING THERE
Charter flights, self-drive or schedule flights from Johannesburg direct, via Nelspruit or Maputo and Beira to Vilanculos - with Federal Air, LAM (Mozambique Airlines) and CFA Air Charter.

ARRIVAL AT VILANCULOS
On arrival at Vilanculos, you will be met by a representative from Vilanculos Beach Lodge, who will assist you with clearing customs and immigration prior to boarding the transfer vehicle.

Immigration fees to be settled at Vilanculos Airport = US$ 3.00 pp (payable upon arrival and departure).

Activities available at Vilanculos Beach Lodge:
Scuba Diving & Snorkeling
There are numerous sites to choose from, ranging in depth from 6m to 34m thus catering for all from the less experienced to the most avid diver. The water temperature ranges from 21 degrees Celsius in winter to 30 degrees Celsius in summer, with the visibility averaging 18m in winter and 8m in summer.
As our reefs range from shallow to deep, they offer the diver an abundance of marine life with a huge diversity of both coral and fish life. In addition to most of the beautiful East Indian Ocean reef fish, we have the privilege of seeing various species of Sharks, Whale sharks, Manta rays, Potato bass, Turtles, Guitarfish and various Rays and Eels. For those extremely fortunate, a Humpback Whale during the months of July to October.

For the non-diver there is always the opportunity to take a snorkeling trip to the amazing 2 mile reef. Here, one may appreciate the beauty and colours of a coral reef and the abundant marine life it supports without having to don scuba gear.

Big Game Fishing & Fly Fishing
Fishing is excellent all year round, especially for giant king fish, king mackerel, yellow fin tuna and barracuda, with Dorado and Wahoo being found in the summer months.

October to February produces three species of Marlin, mainly Black, Blue and Stripped. For the Sailfish enthusiast the best months are May to July. Fly fishing is available from the shores of one of the idyllic islands, the sand flats around the Archipelago or out at sea.

Whale Watching, Sun set and daytime cruises, Island Picnics, Sea Kayaking, A variety of water sports, including water skiing, wake-boarding and tubing, Para-sailing, Trips to the Market, Tours of the area, Horse and camel rides or on the beach and Dhow Trips can be arranged through the lodge
